The Baroness Shawcross, who died 2 March, 2013, was the third wife, and widow, of the life peer, Hartley Shawcross, Labour politician and Chief Prosecutor for the UK at the Nuremberg war criumes trial.

She was Susanne Monique Huiskamp, and married the peer in 1997 ~ when he was in his 96th year. Her husband died in July, 2003, aged 101.

I am surprised that Shawcross was never made an hereditary peer, as his life barony dated from a time when they were still being given out the same with the late lord Denning too.
