Per The Telegraph site:

'Geoffrey Charles Martineau died on the 30 January 2019 aged 88. Much loved husband of Colina, father of Martin and David and grandfather of Cosmo and Joe. Funeral 18th February, 2pm at St Mary Magdalene Church, Richmond, Surrey.'

Geoffrey Lupton was of the Hong Kong Government Service, which would likely explain the lack of a marriage record; nevertheless, his engagement was announced in 'Corona', vol. 12, p. 419 (1960), to Colina M. H. (1932-), dau. of Sir Raibeart MacDougall (1892-1949), K.C.M.G., C.I.E., of the Indian Civil Service, Counsellor to the Governor of Burma 1941-7. Their son Dr Martin Geoffrey Francis Lupton, Vice-Dean (Education) for the Faculty of Medicine, Head of the Undergraduate School of Medicine, Imperial College London m. 1999, Rosamund (1964-), dau. of Hon. Patrick Christopher Orde-Powlett (s. of Nigel Amyas Orde-Powlett, 6th Baron Bolton of Bolton Castle).

Geoffrey Lupton was s. of Hugh Ralph Lupton (1893-1983), of Clare Cottage, Dunmow, Essex, O.B.E., M.C., F.I.C.E., F.I.Mech.E., F.I.E.E., consultant on pumping machinery, president, Institution of Water Engineers and Scientists 1955, mechanical engineer to the Metropolitan Water Board from 1939, responsible for maintaining London's water supplies during the Blitz, formerly emp. Hathorn Davey & Co., Leeds (his obituary in 'Transactions of the Newcomen Society' notes him to have been responsible for the development of the mixed-flow centrifugal pump impeller), of the Leeds Rifles (WWI). His wife (m. 1920) was (Marjorie Edith) Joyce (1892-1970), dau. of Cyril Ransome (1851-1897), of Whitehall Gardens, Clifton Road, Rugby, Warwicks., and sister of the writer Arthur Michell Ransome (1884-1967).

Hugh Ralph Lupton was s. of Hugh Lupton (1861-1947), of Gate Close Cottage, Elmete Lane, Roundhay, Leeds, educ. Rugby, Univ. Coll., Oxon., managing director, Hathorn Davey (manufacturers of heavy pumping machinery), Leeds City councilman 1913-26 (inc. Chairman, Electricity Committee), Lord Mayor of Leeds 1926, and his wife Isabella (1863-1932), dau. of Ralph Simey, of Bishopwearmouth, Sunderland, attorney.

He was s. of Francis Lupton (1813-1884), of Beechwood, Elmete Lane, Roundhay, formerly of Newton Hall and Potternewton Hall, a board member of the Bank of Leeds, J.P., and Frances Elizabeth, dau. of Thomas Michael Greenhow and Elizabeth (dau. of Thomas Martineau). Their sons Arthur and Charles married, respectively, Harriet and Katharine Ashton; they were sisters of Thomas Ashton, 1st Baron Ashton of Hyde.

For more details and the ancestry of Hugh Lupton (1861-1947) see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lupton_family#Hugh_Lupton

Presumably, given their notability, it was these Luptons (or at least one of the branches) treated in BLG 1969, but I do not possess a copy so cannot check. This is of course the Lupton family much discussed in the press with relation to the Duchess of Cambridge, she being descended therefrom.

Sorry, I omitted the heading for the Telegraph posting, which, of course, read 'LUPTON', beneath which the existing quoted text appeared.

Additionally of note- Rosamund Lupton (née Orde-Powlett) is a novelist.
