Wakeham/Digby-Bell engagement

[Michael Rhodes]

The engagement was anounced 30 Oct 2007, between the Hon Benedict Ian
Wakeham (b 1975), 2nd son o the life peer Baron Wakeham, PC, JP (b 22
June 1932), by his 1st wife the former Anne Roberta Bailey (who d in
the Brighton Bomb, Oct 1984), and step-son of Baroness Wakeham, & Anna
A. Digby-Bell, daughter of Mr Antony Digby- Bell, of Putney, and Mrs
Laura Digby-Bell, of Fulham.

The Telegraph announcement says Benedict is the son of Lord and Lady
Wakeham.

According to Debrett's 2003, Benedict and his older brother Jonathan
are the adopted sons of Lord Wakeham. Lord Wakeham has a younger
(natural) son, David, by his 2nd marriage.

Ah, could the 2nd wife have adopted the adopted children of the first
wife so that Lord and Lady
Wakeham are Benedict's parents?

Michael, I guess anything is possible but there is no indication of
that in the reference books.

(The latest Burke's doesn't list the two of them as adopted.)
