From the Telegraph of 1 May 2026: HALFORD Madeleine died peacefully aged 92 on 27th April. Beloved wife of Lt Colonel John , adored mother of Sophie, Catherine and Isabelle. Much loved grandmother of Olivia, Gautier and Zenda. Funeral to take place at Église Saint Jean Baptiste on 4th May at 3 p.m. in La Ménitré 49250.

She m Lt-Col John HALFORD. Their dau Isabella b 1966 m 1993 Oliver John b 1961 only s of Rev Canon William Gilbert GIBBS 1931-2018 (2xgt gs of Antony GIBBS 1756-1815 who was gf of 1 Baron ALDENHAM 1819-1907) and Lady Sarah (Sally) Kaitlin BINGHAM 1936-2001 dau of 6 Earl of LUCAN 1898-1964 (f of the infamous 7 Earl) by his wife a gd of 1 Earl of DARTREY 1817-97, as 4 Earl of CLANWILLIAM 1832-1907 etc, and had issue.

It would appear that the late Mrs Halford's date of birth was 7 December 1933. Her husband's full name is John Bethel Julian HALFORD, and he was born in Bucharest, Roumania on 4 April 1934. They were married on 30 June 1962.
