David WADHAM-SMITH (born 1944) would appear at one time to have been a motor racing driver. He is the son of Walter Mervyn WADHAM-SMITH, CBE (1910 - ?), who was an Assistant Solicitor in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and his wife (marriage registered Q1 1942 - Kensington), Frances Dolores D'ALBANI (1912 - ?), a daughter of Arthur James Louis Francis D'ALBANI (2 IV 1856 - 9 X 1928) and his second wife (married 1907), Elizabeth FLETCHER.

Captain and Hon Major Arthur James Louis Francis D'ALBANI was a solicitor in Newmarket, Suffolk. He was the son of Rinaldo Carlo Luigi Ferdinando DI LARA, Count D'Albani, who was naturalised as a British subject on 11 January 1859, and there is some suggestion that he may have been a descendant of the Young Pretender, Prince Charles Edward Stuart (see http://www.newmarketshops.info/No.85_High_Street.html.
