The late Mrs Mackay-Lewis (as Lady Inkin) contested the Vale of Glamorgan as the Conservative candidate in the 2001 General Election.

Her parents, Maj Henry Hutchison TURCAN (2 III 1907 - 20 VI 1977), of Lindores House, Lindores, Cupar, Fife and his wife (married 1939), Lilias CHEYNE (5 XII 1915 - 10 III 1975), also had three sons. Her eldest brother, Henry Watson ("Harry") TURCAN (born 22 VIII 1941) married Jane Fairrie BLAIR (born 11 X 1941), and their son, Henry Arthur John TURCAN (born 31 I 1974), was the husband (married 2004, as his first wife) of Arabella Lucy LOCKHART SMITH (30 III 1971 - 13 VII 2017), of that landed gentry (LG) family.

Mrs Mackay-Lewis' second brother, William James ("Bill") TURCAN (born 4 I 1943), is the husband (marriage registered 1967 - Paisley) of Elisabeth Margaret STEWART (born c.1943), by whom he has three sons and one daughter. His wife is the elder daughter of Andrew Graham STEWART (1901 - 8 V 1964), sometime President of the British Iron and Steel Federation, and his wife (married 5 XII 1929), Barabel GREIG (19 V 1907 - c.1985), of that LG family, of Binsness. Barabel Greig was the second daughter of Robert Coventry GREIG (30 V 1871 - 10 I 1951), who was himself the eldest brother of the Royal courtier, Gp Capt Sir Louis Leisler GREIG, KBE, CVO (17 XI 1880 - 1 III 1953). Her sister, Nancy Margaret GREIG (29 XI 1908 - 3 VIII 2014), was the wife (married 24 IX 1936) of the 2nd Baron Maclay.

Mrs Mackay-Lewis' youngest brother, Robert Cheyne TURCAN (born 28 V 1947), was married to Elizabeth C CARSLAKE (born  c.1947/8) in 1974, and Richard's posting about their younger son's engagement is at https://groups.google.com/g/peerage-news/c/29VsY9mGPkw/m/dz2FgA3UBwAJ. Their elder son, John Cheyne TURCAN (born 2 V 1977), is the third generation of the family to reside at Lindores House, where he lives with his wife, (Maria) Eugenia MOLINA MORENÉS (born 19 VI 1978) and their two sons, Juan (born c.2012) and Jamie (born c.2013). A recent (5 November 2024) article about the house and family in the Spanish ¡Hola! magazine can be found at https://www-hola-com.translate.goog/decoracion/20241105726650/empresario-john-turcan-mujer-eugenia-molina-morenes-casa-escocia/?_x_tr_sl=es&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=sc&_x_tr_hist=true.

Mrs Mackay-Lewis' mother was the sister of Barbara Christian CHEYNE (24 X 1917 - 7 IX 1993), who was the wife (married c.1939) of her father's brother, Patrick Watson TURCAN (17 III 1913 - 20 IX 1996). The Cheyne sisters were the daughters of Maj Harry CHEYNE (8 XII 1882 - 10 VII 1917, killed in action) and his wife (married 3 II 1915, as her first husband), Anne Violet MacMillan SALVESEN (25 X 1889 - c.1969). Maj Harry Cheyne was the son of Sir Henry CHEYNE (2 III 1845 - 27 XI 1915). His wife, Anne Salvesen, was a granddaughter of Salve Christian Fredrik SALVESEN (8 III 1827 - 15 I 1911), the Norwegian-born founder of the Christian Salvesen shipping line.
