Baronetage.org has a useful new resource:

"Sir Crispin Agnew Bt, LVO, KC, an eminent Scottish Baronet, KC and historian has compiled a comprehensive bibliography of all matters pertaining to the Baronetage; it is complete up to the end of 2025 and may be downloaded at this link."

For those uninitiated, here is a condensed list of works you can reference if researching baronets:

For genealogical history and pedigree:

G. E. Cokayne, The Complete Baronetage (1900-06), 5 vols + index. The gold standard. A second edition is under preparation currently.

Betham, William. The Baronetage of England (1801-05), 5 vols.

Betham, William. The New Baronetage of England (1804), 2 vols.

Collins, Arthur. The Baronetage of England (1720), 2 vols.

Collins, Arthur. An Historical and Genealogical Account of Baronets (1742), 2 vols.

Courthope, William. Synopsis of the Extinct Baronetage, 1835.

Burke’s Extinct and Dormant Baronetcies (1838).

Kimber, Edward. The Baronetage of England (1771), 3 vols.

Playfair, William. British Family Antiquity, vols vi and vii (English baronets), viii (Scottish baronets), ix (Irish baronets).

Stockdale, Joseph. The Baronetage of England (1831).

Wotton, Thomas. The English Baronets (1727, 1st edn, 3 vols; 1741, 2nd edn, 5 vols).

Official Roll of the Baronets (published from time to time over the decades)

You can also refer to the various editions of Burke’s, Debrett’s, Stockdale’s, Lodge’s etc.

For information related to the dignity of a baronet/reference:

Briton, A. The Baronetage under Twenty-Seven Sovereigns (no date).

Pixley, Francis W. A History of the Baronetage (1900).

Google Books, Internet Archive, HathiTrust, FamilySearch are your best friends in finding these various works as they have copies for downloading.

As far as I am aware, Agnew's list is the first of its kind for baronets specifically.

Oh I forgot the most important work of all, C. J. Parry's Index of Baronetage Creations (1967). I believe it was this work that the late Leigh Rayment used in creating his list of baronets on his website. As far as I am aware, this is the only completed index of baronetcy creations ever.
