Her maternal grandmother, a Bingham of the earls of Lucan is mentioned, so it should be mentioned, too, that her paternal grandmother was a Pelham, of the earls of Chichester.

Thanks. I do try to cover myself by putting 'etc etc' when referring to antecedents, otherwise I'd never get the d*mn thing posted!

Given the number of postings you provide to the group that's entirely reasonable, Richard- I don't think it hurts at all to leave interested parties to do some of their own research, either; after all, there are so many resources- even just online, and particularly with relation to the aristocracy (i.e. as opposed to the gentry)- that even a novice would surely have an easy time finding something like thepeerage.com where they can spend as much (or as little) time as they like tracing back over the centuries in whatever line they choose.

agreed!  I was certainly not trying to criticize.. I just wanted to add relevant information. I know how much work you do posting all this information here. Over at the Nobiliana Forum, I'm one of the ones who checks the Telegraph daily, and posts relevant events, but I also check obits in a few dozen German and Austrian papers daily, so I know how much work is involved.  Congrats on your continued efforts here!

Ah, it seems I could have phrased my previous post better! Of course, I know you as a contributor and far from a novice in the field, Mr Theroff (and have naturally referred to your site before)- I more meant to refer to the uninitiated internet user who might come across this group in search results, who could then pursue other avenues. I didn't mean to imply I thought your previous post constituted any kind of unwarranted criticism; sorry about that!

Thanks for that. I'm always grateful for any responses to my posts and certainly didn't take it critically, although, having reread my response, I can see that using the word "d*mn" may have given that impression.
I don't know other posters' situations but I work in a full-time demanding job and I fit my daytime posts in between doing a busy 'day job'. Hence sometimes the need for 'etcs'

Special congrats for doing all the work while still having a full-time job! I combined this hobby with a full-time job as a lawyer for many years, but a few years ago I took early retirement, and am now able to spend a few hours per day on various genealogical researches. :)
