From the Times of 24 December 2013: TROUP John Duncan Gordon, PhD, DSc(Med), MRCS, LRCP, F(FOM)RCP (Han), FRSM, FErgS, FSA(Scot), late of Kirkton House, Cairnie, Aberdeenshire: born 23rd November 1924, died 20th December 2013 at home. Elder son of Captain Francis Gordon Troup and Olive Mary Katharine (nee Mosse). Any further information is available from Messrs Murdoch, McMath & Mitchell, Solicitors, Huntly.
He succ his father, Capt Francis Gordon TROUP (1887-1984), as head of that Scots gentry of Dunbennan. His mother was Olive Mary Katherine MOSSE (1896-1959), scion of that gentry family formerly of Loriners. He was unm and appears to be succ as head of the family by his younger brother, Donald Alexander Gordon TROUP OBE FRICS (b 1927) who is twice married with two sons from the first marriage.
