The infant's maternal grandmother, née Dorothy Crookenden, is the elder daughter of Maj Spencer CROOKENDEN, CBE, MC (17 IV 1919 - 5 XII 2006), sometime chairman of K Shoes Ltd, and his second wife (married 1960), Elisabeth Irma Lina VOSS (1929 - 20 XI 2015).

Maj Crookenden also had a son and a daughter from his first marriage in 1945 to (as her second husband), Jean Phyllis DEWING (17 X 1918 - 29 XII 1957), a great-great-granddaughter of the 2nd Earl Nelson. He was the youngest brother of Lt-Gen Sir Napier CROOKENDEN (31 VIII 1915 - 31 X 2002), who was the husband (married 3 VIII 1948) of the Hon Patricia Nassau KINDERSLEY (5 VIII 1922 - 4 VI 2010), elder daughter of the 2nd Baron Kindersley.
