outlook.html
Just three weeks before family and friends were to celebrate her 96th
birthday, divorcee Lady Anne Cowdray has sadly died.
She married the late Penguin and Longman books billionaire, the third
Viscount Cowdray in 1939 and lived at the polo mecca of Cowdray Park
in West Sussex.
She moved to Wiltshire, retaining her good looks into old age, and was
still riding her tractor mower into her 90s.
=====================
What the article does not mention is when her marriage was over. Her
former husband married 2ndly Elizabeth Mather-Jackson, maternal aunt
of Ladies Beaverbrook and Allendale, and of the Mather-Jackson (now
Jackson?) baronets.
She was born Lady Anne Bridgeman (12 June 1913 - May 2009, three weeks
before her 96th birthday), 3rd daughter of the 5th Earl of Bradford.
Her nephew is the twice-married present 7th Earl of Bradford. On 19
July 1939, she married the future 3rd Viscount Cowdray, himself son of
the 2nd Viscount and his wife Agnes Beryl Spencer-Churchill, of the
dukes of Marlborough. they divorced in 1950, having had issue, 1 son
and 2 daughters
