He was s of Capt Philip Rutherford BOSWELL OF AUCHINLECK MC 1889-1969 whom he succ as 16th of that Scots gentry family and (Elsie) Kathleen 1900-68 d of Arthur Thomas HUNTER of Sydenham. He m 1950 Joan Mary Galpin b 1927 reg Q4 London d of Douglas Cecil WHITE 1895-1971 of Combe Down, Bath by his 24 Juy 1920 m reg Q3 London to Charlotte Galpin LILLEY 1892-1968, and had two sons and two daus. His elder son succeeds him as 17th heir male of the family (Robert David b 1951)
