From the Telegraph of 14 Oct 2024: AFIA Meriel Rose CVO DL died aged 85 on 8th October 2025. Wife of the late Robin Kenyon-Slaney, followed by her beloved Peter, and deeply loved mother of Rupert, Tom and Natasha. Loving grandmother to her six gorgeous grandsons and adored mother-in-law to Christina and Barney. There will be a Service of Thanksgiving at St Andrew's Church, Shifnal, Shropshire… on Tuesday 4th November at 2 p.m. Family flowers only.

She was Extra Lady-in-Waiting to Princess ALEXANDRA of KENT the Hon Lady Ogilvy KG. She was d of Capt Joseph Gurney Fowell BUXTON 1913-ka1943 (2xgt gs of Sir Thomas Fowell BUXTON 1^st Bt 1786-1845) and as her 1st h  Elizabeth Langley (Mrs Alexander Grant) 1915-1934 d of Maj Robert BARBOUR 1876-1928 and as her 1^st h Ida Lavington (Mrs William Carter) 1889-1985 d of Arthur Lavington PAYNE 1860-1917 (s of Sir Salusbury Gillies PAYNE 5^th Bt 1829-93) and Alice Ida 1866-1948 d of James DUGDALE 1813-76 sometime head of that gentry family of Wraoxall Abbey and Mary Louisa PLUMMER 1829-95. She m 1^st Robert Ivan 1926-84 s of Maj Robert Orlando Rodolph KENYON-SLANEY 1892-1965 (2xgt gs of 1^st Baron KENYON 1732-1802) and his 1^st w Lady Mary Cecilia Rhodesia HAMILTON 1896-1984 d of 3rd Duke of ABERCORN 1869-1953 and Lady Rosalind Cecilia Caroline BINGHAM 1869-1958 d of 4th Earl of LUCAN 1830-1914 and Lady Cecilia Catherine GORDON-LENNOX 1838-1910 d of 5^th Duke of RICHMOND 1791-18560 by his wife a dau of FM 1^st Marquess of ANGLESEY KG GCH 1768-1854 etc, etc, and had two sons and a dau as above.
