He was s of Mark William BURRELL b 1937 (s of Lt-Col Sir Walter Raymond BURRELL 8th Bt 1903-85 & gs of 3rd Baron DENMAN 1874-1954) and Margot Rosemary d of Westray PEARCE. He m 1998 Lady Louise Iona CAMPBELL b 1972 d of 12th Duke of ARGYLL 1937-2001 and Iona Mary b 1945 d of Sir Ivar Iain COLQUHOUN of Luss 8th Bt 1916-2008, and had a son and a dau as above.
