From the Telegraph of 12 July 2024: BIRKBECK Hermione Anne (née Dawes), adored wife of sixty years to John (Tiggy) Birkbeck, died on July 10th in Litcham, Norfolk, aged 84 after three years of suffering with Alzheimer's disease. Devoted mother to Lucy, Oliver and Rosanna. Private funeral. Donations in memory of Hermione will be very gratefully received by the Friends of All Saints Church, Litcham.

She was d of Maj D'Arcy Armytage DAWES 1908-67 (gt gs of Sir George ARMYTAGE 5^th Bt 1819-99) and Naomi Isabella 1912-2001 d of Gilbert THOMPSON 1877-ka1915 (gs of Sir Matthew William THOMPSON 1^st Bt 1820-91) and Ethel Isabella 1876-1959 d of Marmaduke D’Arcy WYVILL 1849-1918 sometime head of that gentry family of Constable Burton (and gs of Sir Charles IBBETSON 4^th Bt 1779-1839, as well 8xgt gs of 5^th Baron INCHIQUIN 1594-1624, etc). She m 1964 John Oliver Charles b 1936 s of Col Oliver BIRKBECK OBE 1893-1952 scion of that gentry family of Westacre and Lady (Wilhelmina) Joan Mary FITZ-CLARENCE 1904-92 gd of 2nd Earl of MUNSTER 1824-1901 who was gs of King WILLIAM IV, and had a son and two daus as above.
