METCALFE, David Patrick loved husband, father and grandfather died central London 21st April aged 84. Memorial service at St.Pauls, Knightsbridge, June 12th at noon. He was the s of the Irish-born Maj Edward (‘Fruity') Dudley METCALFE MVO (1887-1957, sometime ADC to EDWARD VIII, and then equerry to the former king when he was Duke of WINDSOR) and Lady Alexandra (‘Baba') Naldera CURZON CStJ (1904-95) d of the 1st & last Marquess CURZON OF KEDLESTON, sometime Viceroy of India (1859-1925, his barony of RAVENSDALE was cr with special remainder to his daus and their heirs male) and Mary Victoria CI (1870-1906) d of Levi Zeigler LEITER of Washington DC (1834–1904) merchant and millionaire, and Mary Theresa (1845–1913) d of Benjamin CARVER.

 

He m 1st 1957 (div 1964) Alexandria Irene (1928-66) d of Michael BOYCUN of Canada, and widow of Sir Alexander Korda, and had 2 sons and a dau:

1 Julian Edward (b 1959) m with two sons (Michael John b 1993 and Billy Alexander b 1995)

2 Charles Michael (b 1962) m twice with two sons from his first m (Louis Warren b 1993 and Percy David b 1996) and a dau by his 2^nd m.

1 Zara Naldera (b 1957) is m with 3 sons.

 

He m 2nd 1968 (div 1973) Anne Marie Jeanne d of Comte Jacques DE CHAUVIGNY DE BLOT and had a 3rd son:

3 Edward George Anthony (b 1970) unm.

 

He m 3rd Sally (formerly Mrs Ralph Howe) d of Edward E CULLEN of Philadelphia.

 

His 3 sons and 4 gs are in line to the barony of RAVENSDALE. It's currently held by the 3rd Baron, the son of Sir Oswald MOSLEY. Which 3rd Baron's descendants occupy the first 14 places in the line of succession. The last 7 places are held by the above named Metcalfes.
