The Hon Simon P Scott, brother of the present earl and second son of
the 4th Earl of Eldon and Hon Magdalen Mary Charlotte Fraser dau of
16th Lord Lovat, died on 30 May 2009. He married 1966 Mary Isabel dau
of Andrew Ramon Dalzell de Bertodano and Lady (Mary Elspeth) Sylvia
Savile (dau of the 6th Earl of Mexborough and Hon Margaret Eva de
Burgh Knatchbull-Hugessen dau of 2nd Baron Brabourne). They had 3 sons
(Sebastian Andrew b 1967 and married with issue; Benedict Simon b 1971
and married with issue; and James (Jamie) Joseph Michael b 1974 and
unmarried) and 1 dau (Maria (Maymie) Sylvia Rose b 1968 and married
with issue? see below).
He was a Page of Honour to The Queen 1953–56.

Simon Peter, aged 69, died peacefully at home on Saturday 30th May
2009. Husband of Isabel, father of Sebastian, Maymie, Benedict and
Jaimie and doting grandfather to Matilda, Jack, Billy, Rosie, Fleur,
Anna, Emily and Molly. Funeral at OurLady and St Andrews Catholic
church, Market Street, Galashiels, TD1 1BY on Friday 5th June at 11am.
No flowers, but any cheques to be made payable to the Simon Scott
Memorial Fund sent to Mercy Corps, 40 Sciennes, Edinburgh, EH9 1NJ.

The Times notice names six more grandchildren than those mentioned in
Debrett, where the first two sons are listed with 1 dau each
(Sebastian's dau Anna b 2004 and Benedict's dau Rose b 2002).
Presumably, some of the six not listed by Debrett (Matilda, Jack,
Billy, Fleur, Emily and Molly) are issue of his dau, Maymie, who
married in 1995 and is still shown in the peerage without issue. Of
course the third son, Jamie, may have married and not told Debrett!
