The present (10th) Baronet's only heir is his son Alexander David b 2004.  It was thought that on the death of the present baronet and his son without heirs the baronetcy would become dormant because as stated in the 2015 edition of Debrett's there were unknown possible descendants of the late Arthur Ernest Stuart b 1896 d ? and late Charles Edwin Stuart b 1897 d ? sons of Arthur Kennedy Stuart only son of Maj Arthur John Stuart RM, 3rd son of the 5th Baronet.

It would seem from Debrett's 2019 that the descendants have now been identified - unfortunately (for the future of the baronetcy) the living descendants are all female so it would seem that the baronetcy may be heading for extinction rather than dormancy.

Arthur Ernest Stuart b 1896 d 1967 m 1945 Enid Marjorie Wilkinson who d 1981 and had Maureen M b 1949 and Jean V b 1953

Wing Cdr Charles Edwin Stuart b 1897 d 1979 m 1923 Eugenie Sonia de Jarrande of Ukraine who d 2000 and had Patricia Marguerite b 1924 m 1943 Lt Cdr Douglas Victor Knight who d 1996  and has a son and a dau

Sir Geoffrey Phillip Stuart is now entered on the Official Roll of the Baronetage as the 10th Baronet Stuart of Hartley Maudit (DPB states Hartley Mauduit but the abandoned Hampshire village now seems to be known as Hartley Mauditt)

This baronetcy has not been on the Roll since the death of the 7th Baronet in 1939
