From the Telegraph of 9 July 2022: DRYDEN Sir John Bt. Peacefully on 29th June 2022 with his beloved wife Diana and his loving children Freddie and Caroline by his side. Funeral on 18th July at Christ Church Fairwarp at 2 p.m. No flowers but donations to St Peter and St James Hospice.

He was s of Sir Noel Percy Hugh DRYDEN 10th & 7th Bt 1910-70 and Rosamund Mary 1915-94 d of Stephen Francis Eustace SCROPE 1872-1936 scion of that gentry family of Danby and Ethelburga Mary Magdalena Pega WATERTON 1887-1973 scion of that gentry family f/o Deeping Waterton. He m 1970 Diana Constance b 1944 reg Q3 S. Yorks d of Cyril TOMLINSON, and had a son and a dau. His son succeeds him:
