From the Times of 6 April 2023: PRIDEAUX Christopher John died peacefully on 31st March 2023. Beloved husband of Celia, father to Lavinia, David and Charles, and grandfather to eight grandchildren. Thanksgiving service on Thursday 27th April at 2.30pm, St Mary’s Church, Quainton, Aylesbury, Bucks... No flowers please. Donations to Fight for Sight.

He was s of Col Sir John Francis PRIDEAUX OBE TD 1911-83 (whom he succ. as) head of that gentry family of Elderslie and Joan Terrell 1911-2008 d of Capt Gordon Hargreaves BROWN MC 1880-ka1914 (s of Sir Alexander Hargreaves BROWN 1^st Bt 1844-1922) and Editha Ivy PIGOTT 1888-1964 (6xgt gd of 1^st Baron WARD c1614-1670 and The Baroness DUDLEY 1611-70, etc). He m 1959 Celia b 1936 d of Sir Peter Averell DANIELL TD 1909-2002 scion of that gentry family f/o Daresbury and Leonie Mayne HARRISON 1912-97, and had two sons and a dau as above. His elder son succeeds as head of the family.
