From the Telegraph & Times of 14 May 2022: HANBURY Christopher Osgood Philip QRIH passed away peacefully on 10th May 2022. Adored husband of Bridget, proudest father and father-in-law of Zahra (Will), Emma (Scott), Arabella (Hugo), Jessica (Nick), Charlie (Yoanna) and George (Tori) and most phenomenal Gumper to Jack, Ollie, Tommy, Kiki, Lola, Oscar, Arthur, Sasha, Archie, Tallulah, Hubie, Ludo, Hector, George, Wilfred, Cara, Cressida, Catinka, Ned, Willow and Tiggy. Strictly private funeral. Family flowers only, but donations, if desired, to COSMIC... The details of a memorial service will be announced later.

He was s of Sqdn Ldr Osgood Philip Villiers HANBURY DSO DFC RAF 1917-ka1943 scion of the HILL formerly Hanbury gentry family of Holfield Grange and as her 1st h Cecil Patricia HARMAN 1915-2004 scion of that Irish gentry family of Crossdrum. He was sometime equerry to the Sultan of Brunei. He m 1969 reg Q4 Berks Bridget Anne b c1949 reg Q1 Wilts d of Charles Francis BIRCH 1904-74, died Zimbabwe, by his c1934 m reg Q1 Worcs to Catherine Alice Anne (Nan) JOHN 1909-88 (having m 2nd 1979 Charles A Kennedy), and had two sons and four daus as above.

The common ancestor is one Osgood Hanbury (1765-1852) City banker, and his wife (md 1789) Susannah Willet (1769-1818) nee Barclay.

Christopher Hanbury is descended from the fifth son Philip Hanbury  (1802-1878) and his wife (md 1843) Elizabeth Christina Collot d'Escury.

Tim Hanbury is descended from the second son Robert Hanbury (1796-1884) and his wife Emily Willet Hall (1801-1847), possibly a cousin maternallty given Robert's mother was Susannah Willet Barclay.
