The Hon. (Oliver) Piers St. Aubyn, MC, who died at his home in
Cornwall, 24 May, 2006, aged 85, was the younger brother, and heir
presumptive, of the 4th Baron St. Levan (b. 23 Feb, 1919). He was b. 12
July, 1920, son of the 3rd Baron (b. 1895; d. 1978), by his wife, the
former Hon Clementina Nicolson, daughter of the 1st Baron Carnock. He
was educated at Wellington, and St James's School, Maryland, USA; was
High Sheriff of East Sussex, 1982-83; served in WW2 as Capt 60th Rifles
and Parchute Regt (mentioned in despatches, awarded the MC); married
1948, Mary Bailey (d. 1987), daughter of Bailey Southwell, of Crocodile
Leap Farm, Olievenhoutpoort, South Africa, by whom he had issue. His
son, James Piers Southwell St. Aubyn, b. 1950, is now heir pres. to the
Barony of St. Levan (UK 1887) and the Baronetcy (UK 1866).
