From the Telegraph of 18 Feb 2021: ARMSTRONG Robert Walter. Died peacefully on 4th February 2021 in Jersey, after a long illness borne with great courage. Much loved husband of Jane and the late Mary Anne. Beau-Père to Max and brother of Susan. A private funeral will take place. No flowers please. Donations in memory of Robert can be sent to the Retraining of Racehorses charity... All enquiries to De Gruchy's Funeral Care....
He was s of Sam ARMSTRONG (1904-82, Newmarket racehorse trainer) and his sister Susan m the jockey Lester Piggott. He m 2nd 1989 as her 3rd h Jane (b 1953, Max is her s from her 2nd m) d of John ROBERTS (1921-2004, gs of Sir James ROBERTS 1st Bt (1848-1935)) and his 1st w Diana Emily EVANS (d 2019).
