According to this site, Hugh Robert Thornton Trevelyan lived at School Aycliffe, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.

So it must be he. He was born in 1973, making him the right age. He was son of Edward Calverley Thornton Trevelyan, a descendant of the second son of Sir George Trevelyan, 3rd Bt., and of his wife, Elizabeth Anne Blayney.

Does anyone on this forum know the present status of the Trevelyan of Nettlecombe baronetcy ?  Is it still dormant (since 1976) ?  Was the above-mentioned late Hugh Trevelyan an heir, and are the 2 young sons now in remainder ?   Are the holder and heirs of the Trevelyan of Wallingford baronetcy also in remainder to the Trevelyan of Nettlecombe baronetcy ?  Thanks for any information that's available.

Very strange, as Burkes Peerage 106th edition shows since 1976, was succeeded by the 9th Baronets cousin Sir Norman Irving Trevelyan, as 10th Baronet, a resident of California, (1915-1996), succeeded by his eldest son, Edward Normal Trevelyan, (1955-), resident of California as the 11th and present Baronet. He has a son Reed Edward, born 1996.

I am not sure if they are registered.

Thank you for the above information.
In the 2019 obituary, what does the notation "please wear some colour" signify ?  Does it mean not to wear black, and rather to wear something more colorful ?  Or does it mean to wear traditional black, with a splash of color, such as a tie ?  Or does it mean something else entirely ?

Also, are the 2 young sons of the late Hugh Trevelyan in remainder to the Trevelyan of Nettlecombe baronetcy after the California Trevelyan family ?  Is the Trevelyan of Wallingford baronetcy family further down in the remainder ?  Thanks for any further information.

I checked DPB Online with regards to the dormant Trevelyan of Nettlecombe baronetcy.  It's a little confusing.

According to them, the line that you mention, maltagenealogy, is listed as "Not in remainder to the baronetcy."  This line descends from the late George Edward Trevelyan (1848-1915), "whose issue was legitimatized by his subsequent marriage in 1884, but not for succession to the baronetcy."

DPB Online lists Peter John Trevelyan, the 6th Bt. Trevelyan of Wallington) as the "de jure 12th Bt. of Nettlecombe.  As a result, the first 10 in the line of succession would be:

1. JULIAN MILES, b. 1998, ha to his father's existing baronetcy
2. Philip Erasmus, b. 1943 (branch from the 2nd son of the 2nd Bt. Trevelyan of Wallington (UK) 1874
3. Jack Elisha, b. 1977, son of #2
4. Matthew Robert, b. 1978, son of #2
5. Thomas Arnold, b. 1942 (branch from the 3rd son of the 2nd Bt.)
6. Daniel Humphry (Harry), b. 1968, son of #5
7. George Macaulay b. 1944, brother of #5
8. Will Mack. b. 1971, son of #7
9. Thomas Trumbull, b. 1988, son of #7 and half brother of #8
10. Humphry Bennett, b. 1944, twin of #7

It seems even according to LeighRayment, both Baronetcy merged,

Geoffrey Washington Trevelyan, 5th Bt of Wallington succeeded as 10th Bt of Nettlecombe in 1976. Dying in 2011 and succeeded by his son, Peter John Trevelyan 6th Baronet of Wallington and 11th Bt of Nettlecombe.
