Christopher Elliot Stuart was born on February 19 1949 in Durham. His family moved to Manchester, Hull, Birmingham, London and Nottinghamshire, before settling at Birstall, Leicestershire, where he became head boy at Longslade comprehensive school....

Chris Stuart married, in 1984, Megan Emery, a former editor of BBC Radio Wales and a producer on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. She survives him with their two daughters and a son, and a daughter from a previous marriage.

I believe he m (1) 1978 (div 1984) Caroline Susan b 1951 dau of Sir David Edward Lynch-Blosse, 16th Baronet (1925-1971) and they had a dau Josephine Rachel Blosse b 1979
