The Wild family has numerous other connections which may be of interest:
Rev. Ernest John Wild (1858-1931) was s. of James Anstey Wild (1832-1908), B.A., of 104 Westbourne Terrace, W. by his wife Fanny Ann Wimble Barber, dau. of William Barber, of Manor Park, Streatham. J. A. Wild's father was James Wild (1782-1867), of North End Villa, Fulham, a wool merchant, trustee of Southwark Chapel, and for sixty years a Methodist lay preacher. Married five times, his only surviving children were J. A. Wild and two daughters. James Wild's father was an undertaker, of Union Street, Borough, St Saviour.
Rev. Ernest John Wild's brother, James Anstey Wild (1853-1922) was a barrister (Gray's Inn), registar of the City of London Court, and married Beatrice Dorothy Margaret, eldest daughter and co-heiress of Rev. William Stephenson Preston (1822-1897), of Warcop Hall, Westmorland. The Stephenson family were Lords of the Manor of Warcop, this passing into the Preston family in 1716 on the marriage of Elizabeth Stephenson and William Preston, rector of Brougham.
James and Beatrice's second son, William Preston Wild (1885-) married Lorna Kathleen, daughter of Thomas Henry Faber (of that family of Ampfield House). Their son, William Anstey Preston Wild (1927-1997), had a son, Robert Anstey Preston Wild (1957-), who married Katharine Mary Holborow, grand-daughter of the 8th Earl of Courtown; Robert's sister, Tania, married in 1976 David Kenneth Lancelot Ruck Keene, of that family of Waterstock (D. K. L. Ruck Keene's mother being of the Greig family of Binsness).
