Some details of the Hattons:
He had married firstly, in 1962, Alison M. Armitage (issue mentioned in the obituary); Liberty Eve M. Hatton (1993-) is the only issue by his second marriage to Melanie J. (1958-), dau. of - Wood. [There were only really two candidates for her; one, born Luton, mother Buckingham, the other, born Croydon, mother Owens] Company records for C. J. B. Hatton give him as of Wereburne Manor, Vicars Hill, Lymington, and Boothsdale Farm, Willington, Cheshire; another online source has him as resident at The Little House, Grove Road, Lymington. A solicitor of the Supreme Court and notary public, he was also chairman of Greenall Whitley & Co. brewers (now part of De Vere following Lord Daresbury- a descendant of the company's founder- retiring as non-executive chairman in 2006) and of R. H. Gibson & Co. haulage and sand contractors, along with being director of a number of companies including property development.
His father was Alan Herbert Hatton (1895-1960), of Newton House, Preston Brook, nr Warrington, formerly of Black Jane Farm, Newton, formerly of Walls Pit House, Stretton, nr Warrington, Cheshire, senior partner in Robert Davies & Co., Warrington, solicitors, and a director of Greenall Whitley. The connection to the latter company came from his 1922 marriage to Millicent Whitley (1900-1981), dau. of Harry Edward Bower, of View Field, Stretton, J.P., medical officer and public vaccinator, Budworth district, Runcorn union, and medical superintendent, Oaklands Hospital and Raddon Court Military Hospital. H. E. Bower was married to May (1878-), dau. of Charles Thomas Whitley (1846-1909), of Walls Pit House, an architect, of the family with an interest in the brewery.
Thomas Greenall had founded the brewery in 1762 at St Helens (relocating to Warrington), and, following partnership with members of the family of Lyon of Appleton Hall (treated here some years ago), in 1867 John, William and Peter Whitley, nephews of Sir Gilbert Greenall, M.P. (grandson of Thomas Greenall), entered the business. Sir Gilbert's son was created Baron Daresbury.
