From the Telegraph of 3 Nov 2023: WHITELEY Lt Col Michael, the Scots Guards, died peacefully at home aged 84 on 27th October, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Jane, father of Marcus and Justin, stepfather and grandfather, he will be missed beyond measure. A Service of Thanksgiving will take place on 9th February 2024, at St Mildred's Church, Tenterden… at 2 p.m.

He m 1^st 1965 reg Q4 London Fiona Prudence WINDLEY 1943-89, and had two sons as above. He m 2^nd 4 Feb 1994 (Times 5 Feb) as her 2^nd h Dame (Jane) Elizabeth Mary DBE b 1944 d of Maj Charles William Christopher PACKE 1909-ka1944 scion of that gentry family (now PACKE-DRURY-LOWE) of Prestwold Hall and Hon Margaret LANE FOX 1913-86 d of 1^st and only Baron BINGLEY 1870-1947 sometime head of the LANE FOX gentry family of Bramham and Hon Mary Agnes Emily WOOD 1877-1962 d of 2^nd Viscount HALIFAX 1839-1934 and Lady Agnes Elizabeth COURTENAY 1838-1919  d of 21st Earl of DEVON 1807-88 and Lady Elizabeth FORTESQUE 1801-67 d of 1^st Earl FORTESCUE 1753-1841 by his wife a gd of The Countess TEMPLE c1690-1752.
