From the Telegraph of 24 May 2024: Mr R.F. Wingfield Digby and Miss L.C.A. Sewell - The engagement is announced between Richard, son of Mr and Mrs George Wingfield Digby, of Oxfordshire, and Lucinda, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Mark Sewell, of Idlicote, Warwickshire.

Richard Francis b 1989 reg Q3 Wandsworth s of George Richard WINGFIELD DIGBY b 1955 scion of that gentry family of Sherborne Castle by his 1985 m reg Q2 Dorset to Frances Jane b 1959 d of Brig Francis Robert HENN CBE 1920- scion of that Irish gentry family and Monica Traill 1919-2010 d of Brig Charles Cooper RUSSELL MC.

Lucinda Charlotte Anne b 1993 d of Mark Geoffrey SEWELL b 1955 scion of that gentry family of Tysoe Manor and his w & 6^th cousin (both 5xgt gc of Abel SMITH 1717-88) Elizabeth Mary Alexandra b 1957 d of Malcolm Henry Alastair FRASER 1924-2019 (s of Hugh Alastair Hamilton FRASER 1897-1987 and Violet Helen ABEL SMITH 1896-1972 scion of that gentry family and of the SOMERSET dukes etc etc), and Hon Elizabeth Penelope METHUEN 1928-2017 d of 5th Baron METHUEN 1891-1975 and Grace Durning 1898-1972 d of Sir Richard Durning HOLT 1st Bt 1868-1941 and Eliza Lawrence WELLS 1868-1951.

The couple are both descended from Samuel SMITH 1754-1854 (s of Abel SMITH 1717-88), which means Richard is Lucinda’s 4^th cousin once removed.
