BARING / Williscroft engagement

From the Telegraph of 1 December 2017: Mr S.N. Baring and Miss C.A. Williscroft - The engagement is announced between Samuel, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Peter Baring, of Ardington, Oxon, and Camilla, daughter of Mr Richard Williscroft, of West Ashling, Chichester, and Mrs Anthea Pearce, of Winchester, Hants.

Samuel Nigel (b 1987) eldest son and heir of Peter BARING (b 1939), scion of the NORTHBROOK barons and - in the absence of any heirs to the barony - heir presumptive to the Baring baronetcy created 1793, which merged with the Northbrook barony upon the creation of that peerage in 1866. Peter Baring's wife is Rosemary Carol (b c1949 reg Q1 Berkshire) d of George Nigel ADAMS (1912-2002) and Joyce M EELEY (b 1918 reg Q4 Oxfordshire).

Camilla Amy (b 1985 reg Q4 Hampshire) d of Richard S WILLISCROFT and Anthea JARRETT.

Interesting that 2 future dukes (Sussex? and Marlborough), 1 future baron (FitzWalter) and 1 future baronet (Baring) all announced their engagements within a few days each other.

Good sign for the peerage and baronetage.
