From the Times of 16 Dec 2025: PREVITE Phyllida (née Browne) died on 12th December 2025, aged 90, after a short illness. Beloved wife of John, mother of Andrew and Matthew, grandmother of Grace, Teddy, Thomas, Bertie, Fergus and Annabel, great-grandmother of Sonny. Private, family cremation. A Thanksgiving service to celebrate Phyllida’s life will be held next year. No flowers, donations to the Yehudi Menuhin School or Pancreatic Cancer UK.

She was d of 6 Baron KILMAINE CBE 1902-78 and Whilhelmina Phyllis 1905-2002 d of Scott ARNOTT 1871-1954 of Brasted, Kent and Nora Elise 1879-1970 d of Peter James NICOLAS 1829-92 by his 9 Aug 1862 m (Calcutta) to Gertrude Frances MATTHEWS 1844-1920. She m 1959 John Edward KC b 1934 (Who’s Who) s of Lt-Col Kevin Edward PREVITE OBE 1898-1971 by his c1930 m reg Q1 Hants to Edith Frances 1899-1995 d of Maj-Gen Sir John Edward CAPPER KCB KCVO 1861-1955 and Edith Mary BEAUSIRE 1868-1942, and had two sons as above.

Maj-Gen Sir John Capper was the second son of William Copeland CAPPER (13 II 1832 - 8 VII 1902) and his wife (married 13 I 1855) and first cousin, Sarah COPELAND (8 XI 1834 - ), daughter of Alderman William Taylor COPELAND (24 III 1797 - 12 IV 1868), of that landed gentry family, Lord Mayor of London 1836, MP (Whig) for Coleraine, 1831-32 and 1833-37 and (Conservative) for Stoke on Trent, 1837-52 and 1857-65.
