From the Telegraph of 7 Sept 2022: Roddy, died on Sunday 4th September 2022, aged 60. Husband of Kumiko, son of Malise and the late David, brother to Lucy, Guy, Peter and Nick. A wonderful uncle who was loved and respected by all, he will be hugely missed, as will his great sense of humour. There will be a funeral in Japan this week and a thanksgiving service in Yorkshire in due course.

He was s of William Guy ROPNER 1924-2015 (gt gs of Sir Emil Hugo Oscar Robert ROPNER 1st Bt 1838-1924) and his 1st w (Mildred) Malise Hare b 1932 reg Q4 W.Yorks d of Col George ARMITAGE MC TD 1896-1979 of Newburgh House, Coxwold, Yorks by his 1929 m reg Q2 Thorner, W.Yorks to Mildred Jane HARE 1908-87. He m 2005 Kumiko d of Shizuharu Hirakawa of Kyoto, Japan.
