Nicholas Stafford Howard, of Johnby Hall, Cumbria, scion of the Dukes
of Norfolk, died from cancer, 17 February, 2008. He was b 1937, son of
Capt Stafford Vaughan Stepney Howard (1915-91), by his 1st wife the
former Ursula Priscilla Marie Gabrielle Horlick, dau of Sir James
Horlick, 4th Baronet; was educated at Eton and Magdalene College
Oxford, and Churchill College Cambridge;_>Late GCHQ; married 1966,
Phyllis Bethan, dau of Lewis Duckett, by whom he had issue, (i) Henry
b 1972, (ii) Cecilia Charlotte b 1968. Funeral at St. Andrew's
Church, Greystoke, near Penrith on Friday 29 February.
