He was the son of Simon Anthony Roland ASQUITH (1919 - 1973), scion of the OXFORD AND ASQUITH earls (desc from 2nd son of 1st Earl) and of the WEYMYSS and MARCH earls, etc., and Vivien Lawrence JONES (1923 - 2018), dau of Sir Lawrence Evelyn JONES, 5th Baronet, and scion of the GREY earls.

He m 1977 Patricia SPROSTON and had issue: 2 daus.
