From the Telegraph and the Times of 28 March 2017: DIXON  Piers John Shirley, former Conservative MP, peacefully at home on March 24 2017, aged 88. Much loved husband of Ann, father of Mark, Hugo and Alexander, stepfather of Mace, Marina and Caitlin, grandfather of Atalandi and Jem. Memorial arrangements will be announced later.

He was s of Sir Pierson John DIXON GCMG CB (1904-65) and Alexandra Ismene ATCHLEY (1896-1987). He m 1st 1960 (div 1973) Hon Edwina SANDYS MBE (b 1938) d of the LP Baron DUNCAN-SANDYS CH PC (1908-87) and his 1st w Diana CHURCHILL (1909-63, d of Rt Hon Sir Winston Leonard Spencer CHURCHILL KG (1874-1965), scion of the MARLBOROUGH dukes), and had 2 sons. He m 2nd 19__ (div 1981) Janet Elizabeth Mary (d 2011, previously wife of 5th Earl Cowley) d of Ramiah Dorasawamy AIYAR (1893-1986) and Glenys Mary PUGH (1907-91). He m 3rd 1994 (reg Q3 London) Ann D MAUROLEON ?[and had a further son, Alexander].

Dixon married four times. His first wife was the sculptor Edwina Sandys, a daughter of Duncan Sandys and Diana Churchill. They had two sons, Mark and Hugo. The second was Janet, Countess of Cowley. In 1984, Dixon married Anne Olivia Cronin, daughter of John Desmond Cronin, former Labour MP; they had one son, Piers Alexander Jago. In 1994, he married Ann Mavroleon, daughter of John Davenport.

Piers Dixon is survived by his wife, two sons from his first marriage, and one from his third.
