From the Times of 23 Nov 2021: CARDEN John Craven died peacefully on 12th November 2021 at St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Chichester. Beloved husband of Celia and father of Patrick. Private cremation. Memorial service at a later date at St George’s Church, Chichester.

He never established his claim and the title appears as dormant on The Official Roll of the Baronetage.

He was s of Derrick Charles CARDEN CMG 1921-2006 (gt gs of Sir John Craven CARDEN 4th Bt 1819-79) and Elizabeth Anne 1924-99 d of Capt Alfred Spalding RUSSELL DSO RN 1897-1945 and Edith Margaret TAYLOR 1898-1977. He m 1983 Celia Jane Cameron b 1952 reg Q4 Somerset d of Angus Cameron HOWITT 1922-2001 by his 1947 m reg Q4 Devon to Sylvia Mildred R VENABLES 1925-99, and had a son who "succeeds" him:
