He was the son of Henry Samuel Malortie HOARE (1904-1990), scion of the gentry family Hoare of Stourton (BLG 1965) and (m 1932) Marjorie Francis (1909-1998) dau of Evelyn Charles Arthur VILLIERS (1884-1968) scion of the Earls of Clarendon being descended from the 3rd son of the 1st Earl.  He m Jill b 1933, computer scientist, er dau of Lt-Col John PYM (1908-1993), scion of the gentry family Pym of Hazells Hall (BLG 1965) and had 3 children
