From the Telegraph of 6 Oct 2021: WALTERS Sir Dennis Murray, MBE, died peacefully on 1st October 2021 aged 92. Loving father to Nicholas, Lolly, Dominic, Camilla and Oliver and grandfather to Benedict, Alexander, Jack, Sam, Luke and Zach. No flowers. He was s of Douglas L WALTERS and Clara POMELLO. He m 1st 1955 (div 1969) Vanora Ann McINDOE 1931-2009 and had a son and a dau. He m 2nd 1970 (div 1979) as 2nd of 3 h Hon Celia Mary SANDYS b 1943 d of the LP Baron DUNCAN-SANDYS CH 1908-87 and his 1st w (her 2nd h) Diana 1909-73 d of the sometime British Prime Minister Rt Hon Sir Winston Leonard SPENCER-CHURCHILL KG 1874-1965 (gs of 7th Duke of MARLBOROUGH 1822-83 etc) and had a second son. He m 3rd 1981 (div 2004) Bridgett L b 1950 reg Q3 Surrey d d of (James) Francis SHEARER 1913-97 by his 1945 m reg Q2 Surrey to Judith Margaret BOWMAN 1913-, and had a third son and a second dau.

...Dennis Murray Walters was born in Italy in 1928. After the Germans occupied the country his mother Clara (née Pomello) and father Douglas hid at a convent, where she was disguised as a nun and he masqueraded as a gardener. His elder brother Jack had managed to get back to England in time.
...Walters was married three times, first to Vanora, daughter of Sir Archibald McIndoe: secondly Celia, daughter of the former cabinet minister Duncan Sandys, and third in 1981 to Bridget Shearer, which ended in divorce in 2002. His son from the first marriage, Nicholas, became a corporate communications consultant, and his daughter Lolly a fashion retailer. There was a son from the second marriage, Dominic, who works in marketing communications.
