Also, for anyone interested in the Ennever family, this site is pretty comprehensive and goes back a good way: http://ennever.com/getperson.php?personID=I1214&tree=Ennever

Thanks for posting the link. I lifted a few things from it although I notice it doesn't give (Anthony) Michael Ennever's birthdate - or was I just not looking in the right place?!

Hmm, now you mention it, that is strange! I can't actually find a birth record on FreeBMD or familysearch, either, which is strange; perhaps given his parents' marriage taking place in Scotland his birth did also? (Also perhaps worth noting- his first marriage is recorded as 'Antony', his second as 'Anthony'- for neither could I find a birth record... the electoral roll gives, in 2002,  'Antony M. Ennever' resident with Kirsty F. and Elizabeth J. Ennever, so the evidence leans towards 'Antony' as the correct spelling, I suppose)

I've searched the Scotland's people database for any male Ennever (ie surname search only) births between 1942 and 1959 - and there are none. (Also tried Enever - with one n, and still got a nil result.)

I did wonder if A. M. Ennever could have been born in the U.S., given his father was posted in Washington D.C. from 1953 to 1956; I found no birth record there, BUT a 1953 passenger list gives Colin C. Ennever, Katherine Ennever, Susan E. Ennever (as corroborated by that same family-run site, she is Ant(h)ony Michael's sister), and 'Antony' Ennever; sadly no ages provided, as having gone to New York City (Colin on 27th March, aboard the 'Media', the rest of the family on 3rd August, aboard the 'Queen Elizabeth'). Given Colin Ennever married in 1942, and his son was evidently alive by 1953, that at least gives us a span to work with; Colin's wedding announcement gives him as being of Worthing, Sussex, and the site gives a 1950 phonebook entry with an address of London SW15, so it's possible that for some time in between those years, or between 1950 and 1953 (at the time he departed for the U.S.A, he was resident at Putney Hill), the Ennevers lived outside the jurisdiction of the records to which we would ordinarily have access. However, although the site gives Colin Ennever as based in Egypt in 1935, no other details of foreign residency (save the reference to Washington D.C.) are provided, making this rather more difficult... I'll have a dig around, but nothing's really been coming up for Anthony Michael Ennever (or variations) at all thus far, in terms of company directorship or other notability, so I'm not too hopeful.

Thanks. Couple of things spring to mind:

1 According to the family website, A M Ennever's 1977 marriage was his 2nd. His 1st m c1970 (reg Q1 London) being to Jennifer McEwing. So I'd guess his birth must be before 1952 at the latest (making him 18 at 1st m)

2 Re the spelling of Ant(h)ony. The spelling for the new arrival is with an h.
