From the Telegraph of 16 October 2019: BATTEN Susan Mary Geraldine, formerly of Blakeney, Norfolk, died peacefully on Saturday 5th October. Beloved wife of James Macdonald Batten and mother of Amanda and Charles. Funeral at All Saints, Morston, on Saturday 26th October at 2.30 p.m.

She was d of Lt-Col Gervas Edward PORTAL (1890-1961), descended from a half brother of Viscount PORTAL OF HUNGERFORD, and Iris Mary (1905-2002) d of Sir Montagu Sherard Dawes BUTLER KCSI CB CIE CVO CBE (1873-1952) and Ann Gertrude d of Dr George SMITH CIE (1833-1919). She m 1954 James Macdonald s of Gordon James BATTEN MBE and had a son and a dau as above.
