Some notes on the Bunting family, from
thepeerage.com (citing the Peerage News blogspot site, but no specific details of where or when) and elsewhere, corroborated by census and BMD records:
Gerald Leeson Bunting of Hall Farm, Crakehall, Bedale, Yorks., formerly of Otterington House, Northallerton, Yorks., solicitor. Richard Henry Middleton of Picktree House, Chester-le-Street, County Durham [the probate record for a Richard Henry Middleton d. 1989 gives address as Friar's Lodge, Bamburgh, Northumberland (this being, on a search, 21, Radcliffe Road); he could of course have moved between his daughter's marriage and his own death].
G. L. Bunting eldest of three sons of (Charles) Gilbert Bunting (1889-1967), of Northbrook, Hartlepool, Durham, solicitor (senior partner, Gilbert Bunting & Co., West Hartlepool), Capt., R.A. (WWI), secretary, Seaton Carew Golf Club 1893-, five-time Ryder Cup referee, and (m. 1927) Edith Joyce (1906-1994), dau. of Frank Addy Hopkinson, J.P., of Willow Bank, Huddersfield, Yorks. C. G. Bunting's widow married his younger brother, John Shepherd Allison Bunting (1898-1987), of St Margaret's Bay, Dover, as his second wife.
C. G. Bunting eldest son of Charles John Bunting (1858-1922), of The Poplars, Seaton Carew, nr Hartlepool, solicitor, and (m. 1888) Katie, dau. of Jacob Allison [
thepeerage.com has information giving her name as 'Kate', and her father as 'of 'Wellfield House, West Hartlepool'; the 1881 census has a Jacob Allison of Well Field House (the 1851 census giving his address as Tennant Street, Stranton, Durham), retired butcher, and a daughter 'Katie'; it seems this form was her actual name.]
Charles John Bunting seemingly [per census records] fifth s. of John Bunting (1811-1868), per
thepeerage.com 'of Alexandra House, Heaton Norris, Manchester', per census records of Stretford New Road, Barton-upon-Irwell, Lancs., formerly of Brighouse, Yorks., 'carrier's agent', and his wife (m. 1837) Jane, dau. of - Green.
John Bunting s. of Edward Bunting (1778-1832), of Norton, nr Long Buckby, Northants., and (m. 1809) Ann, dau. of - Leeson.
A family site gives a few more generations (which I haven't corroborated): Edward Bunting s. of John Bunting 'c. 1735- pre-1800', of Long Buckby, and Mary (Polly), dau. of - Alleyn. John s. of Edward (pre-1703- 1742), of Peterborough, Northants.; Edward s. of Daniel (b. c. 1667), of Peterborough, and (m. 1687) 'An Slie'.
