Malcolm Harry Erskine, 17th Earl of Buchan, died suddenly on 11 September 2022, aged 92, now reunited with his wife Hilary; father of Harry, Seraphina, Monty and Arabella, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa to Alex, Katie, Freddie, Ellie, Iona, Milo, Honor, Alfie and Penelope. Funeral Service on Wednesday, 5 October at 12 noon at St Stephen's, Lansdown Road, Bath.

The announcement is headed with the name "Burwood", implying that that was his surname, but I've seen no support for that.

What a horrible year for Lord Cardross, the Earl's older son and successor, who lost his mother, the Countess of Buchan,  nearly 6 months to the day ( March 10th) (see Richard R's post of March 15th).

Lord Cardross, Henry Thomas Alexander ERSKINE (b. 1960) now succeeds as the 18th Earl.  His late wife Charlotte (d. 2013) was the granddaughter of the 4th Viscount Allendale.  The couple had 2 sons and 2 daughters.

The new Earl's older son, the Hon. Alexander Henry DJ (b. 1990), assumes the courtesy title, Lord Cardross.

The granddaughter Penelope mentioned in the 17th Earl's obituary is indeed PENELOPE CHARLOTTE ERSKINE B.2022 GRO REG Q3 WANDSWORTH (mother's name MARTIN) no mention of Alfie.
