Does anyone know what happen to Horatio Walpole, the illegitimate son of the 4th Earl of Orford and Lady Sisan Douglas Hamilton, Duchess of Newcastle.

I ve checked all the peerages and works with no avail.

Much appreciation, in advance.

I've found a 'Horace Walpole' in the 1881, 1891 and 1911 census records, with a birth date given as 1849 or 1850, and birthplace of Italy (1911- Perona, Italy). In the 1881 census the head of the family is listed as '? Earl of Orford', aged 67; this fits exactly with the year of birth given for the 4th Earl of Orford (2nd cr.).

In 1881, Horace is a retired Captain of the 60th Rifles, living at Cavendish Square, Marylebone; in 1891, a Lt-Col in the 4th Battalion of the Norfolk Regiment, living at Seymour Street, Marylebone, and in 1911, resident at Hartley Wintney in Hampshire. Apart from his father in the 1881 census, no other family members appear in any census record, implying he died (seemingly in 1919, at St George Hanover Square, London) unmarried and without children.

Given this evidence, I am fairly confident this all pertains to the same individual.

Thanks a lot.  I had assumed he was adopted out to the colonies but this proves otherwise.

Here's a little more to add to the  research of G Willis.  The Probate Registry records for 1919 “ WALPOLE, Horace of Heckfield –place Hampshire died 4th  April 1919, at 17 Park lane  Middlesex. Probate  London 5 December to Horace John Nevill esquire Philip Langdale Colonel H M Army and Arthue Croxall Whitehead esquire Effects £ 3075. 11. 3d “

According to a report in the Taunton Courier  for 16th  April  1919 there was an inquest into the death. Walpole died in a nursing home. Death was due to a rabbit bone which he swallowed becoming imbedded in his throat. Verdict Accidental death. The Times of 8th April 1919  records a memorial service at St James Spanish place, London and internment at Heckfield on the following day.
