MACKENZIE GEIDT - Diana Cecil aged 83 years. Gathered peacefully in London on 24th April 2012. Much loved mother of Felicity and Christopher, and grandmother of Olivia and Iona. Funeral at St Columba’s Old Parish Church, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, on Tuesday 1st May at 1.30 pm. Donations, if desired, to Diabetes UK.
She was the d of Provost Alastair John MACKENZIE OBE DSC DL JP (1895-1981) of Springfield House, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis. She m 1954 (div before 1980, when he m 2nd Patricia DUNCAN) Mervyn Bernard GEIDT (b 1926) and had a dau (Felicity D Mackenzie b 1958, reg September London) and a son, the Rt Hon Sir Christopher Edward Wollaston MacKenzie GEIDT KCVO OBE (b 1961, Private Secretary to THE QUEEN and Keeper of The Queen’s Archives) m 1996 the Hon Emma Charlotte Angela NEILL (b 1967) d of the LP Baron NEILL OF BLADON QC (b 1926) and Caroline Susan (1930-2010) d of Sir Piers Kenrick DEBENHAM 2nd Bt JP (1904-64) and Angela Sibell (1906-65) d of Sir Richard Arthur Surtees PAGET 2nd Bt (1869-1955) and his 1st w Lady Muriel Evelyn Vernon FINCH-HATTON CBE (1876-1938, d of 12th Earl of WINCHILSEA &c). Sir Christopher Geidt has 2 daus Olivia Rose MacKENZIE GEIDT (b 1999, reg Perth) and Iona Catherine MacKENZIE GEIDT (b 2003, reg Harris, Scotland).
