_Araminta, Baroness Aldington, who died 26 January, 2012, aged 91, was the widow of Toby Austin Richard William Low, 1st Baron Aldington (1914-2000). She was the former Felicité Ann Araminta MacMichael, daughter of Sir Harold MacMichael, GCMG, and married Toby Low in 1947. They had three children. Her husband was awarded a hereditary peerage in 1962, followed by a life peerage in 1999. He died 7 Dec, 2000. Lady Aldington's son, Charles, is 2nd Baron.

She was the d of Sir Harold Alfred MacMICHAEL GCMG DSO (1882–1969),
colonial governor, and Agnes De Sivrac Edith (Nesta) (1888-1974) d of
Canon J O STEPHENS.

Sir Harold's parents were the Revd Charles MacMICHAEL (1854-1905) and
the Hon Sophia Caroline CURZON (1857–1929) d of the Revd the 4th Baron
SCARSDALE (1831-1916) and Blanche (c1838-1875), d of Joseph
POCKLINGTON-SENHOUSE (d 1874), of that gentry family of Netherhall,
Cumberland.

That's great thanks Richard. I thought there might be a grand
connection lurking behind the Canon. I just couldn't easily crach the
J O initials to help with a search. Glad your friend was more on the
ball!

Through the Pocklington Senhouse connection, Araminta MacMichael was the 2nd cousin 5 times removed of Fletcher Christian, of the mutiny on the Bounty.....
