From the Times of 4 March 2025: BRYERS Elspeth (née Hutchison) died on 22nd February. Beloved wife of John, adored mother of Henry, Charlotte and George, and inspirational Amo to her three grandchildren. Funeral private. Thanksgiving service on 20th March at St Mary’s Church, Beverley at 2pm. No flowers please but donations if desired to Fine Cell Work or All Saints Church, Kilnwick.

She was d of Sir Peter HUTCHISON 2^nd Bt 1907-98 and Mary-Grace 1924-2009 d of Very Rev Algernon Giles SEYMOUR 1886-1933 (gt gs of Adm Sir Michael SEYMOUR 1^st Bt d 1834 who was 6xgt gs of Sir John SEYMOUR 1474-1536 who was f of Queen JANE Seymour c1509-37, as well f of 1^st Duke of SOMERSET c1500-52 and 1^st and only Baron SEYMOUR OF SUDELEY 1508-49) and Ida Grace d 1971 d of Vice-Adm Robert Frederick HAMMICK 1843-1922 (s of Rev Sir St Vincent Love HAMMICK 2^nd Bt 1806-88) and Grace Caroline LONGMAN 1853-1940. She m 1975 John Richard Feneran b 21 Aug 1944 (india) s of Brig Richard Hugh Castellain BRYERS 1911-97 of Eye Suffolk, and Phyllis HANKIN d 1964, and had two sons and a dau as above.
