Maryborough? How indeed I wish that we had another non royal dukedom to add to the current list.  I think I will have to include the dukedom of Maryborough  for a character in my next book.

I know that your question was confinded to Peers, but I want to mention that while searching the peers I found two Baronets married seven times each:

Sir Gervase Clifton, 1st Bt., married seven times, as did Sir Francis Ferdinand Maurice Cook, 4th Bt., 4th Visconde de Monserrate

Thank you all whom have contributed thus far, especially Paul. I believe I owe you quite a lot, since many of my list information stems a great deal from your genealogical records so far.

I might suggest that you keep the list to those who have been married at least four times. Here is why: After I had compiled all those who had been married at least four times (which was more than fifty, if I counted correctly, I later decided to try to see which had been married exactly three times. After going through less than 10% of one file (in which I have a large group of families not big enough for their own file), I already had nine, and there would be dozens of other files to go through even after finishing this one. I think that the number of Peers married exactly three times would be well over one hundred.

Here are the ones I've collected before I stopped, and you can see that I'd got only to "Barnewall" in an alphabetical file:

Denis James, 6th Earl of Caledon (10 Nov 1920-20 May 1980); m.1st 6 Apr 1943 (div 1948) Ghislaine Dresselhuys; m.2nd 31 Dec 1952 Anne Luise Frn von Graevenitz (22 Apr 1927-20 Jul 1963); m.3rd 4 Aug 1964 Marie Elisabeth Burton Allen (d.9 Aug 2021)

You make a fair point Paul. After adding up all the names till now, those married three times already is more than a hundred currently. I think keeping the list to four times or more married is better.

Yes Marquess, a typo took place thanks to the difficulty of writing a comment on my I pad.
I thought readers of this blog might be interested to know where the name Maryborough came from.It is a town in Queensland on the Mary River with a population of around 22,000 about 15 miles inland from the coast.
It was named after Lady Mary Fitzroy, nee Lennox, wife of Sir Charles Fitzroy,Governor of NSW. She was a daughter of the 4th Duke of Richmond. He was the grandson of the 3rd Duke of Grafton. They were 5th cousins in descent from King Charles II.
They met when Fitzroy was ADC to her father, who was Governor General of Canada-rather like Harold Macmillan in the early 20th century.

Thanks for the reply and the interesting information,  there will most definitely be a peer in my next book or even the current one that I'm writing bearing that territorial designation.
