He m 1961 Joanna Mary b 1941 reg Q2 Devon d of George Carlos BIRD 1910-83 of Appleton, Abingdon, Oxon by his 1940 m to Mary Elizabeth NORRINGTON, and had three sons and two daus, the eldest son succ. his f as hp to the title:
