She was d of Lt-Col Geoffrey Lennard HOARE CBE (1879-1960) scion of that gentry family of Stourton and Lady Alma STOPFORD (1889-1982) d of 6th Earl of COURTOWN (1853-1933) and his 2nd w Gertrude (1864-1934) d of Lt-Gen Charles James Conway MILLS (1816-94) scion of that gentry family of Bisterne and Gertrude WHITBREAD (d 1909) scion of that gentry family of Southill. She m 1952 Lt-Col Henry Blackwood Hallowes OBE (1919-2005) s of Lt-Col Henry Archibald WARING DSO (1882-1957) sometime head of that gentry family f/o Hewitts and Marjorie HALLOWES (1885-1969), and had two sons and a dau as above.
