From the Telegraph of 27 Oct 2022: THOMAS Sir Derek, KCMG, died peacefully on October 25th, aged 92. Beloved husband of the late Lineke, adored father to Caroline and Matthew, incredible grandfather to Jack, Lily, India, Tara, Xanthe, Kinvara, Poppy, Coco, Felix and Tabitha, wonderful step-grandfather to Dash and Minna, and amazing great grandfather to Aphra, Gisele, Lyla and Cyra. Much loved and much missed by all. Private cremation at Mortlake Crematorium. A thanksgiving service will follow.
He was s of Kenneth P D THOMAS by his c1925 m reg Q1 Essex to Mali McLeod MORISON 1903-72. He m 1956 Lineke VAN DER MAST, and had a son Matthew and a dau Caroline Mali who m 1988 Sir Charles Angus GLADSTONE 8th Bt b 1964, and had 2 sons and 4 daus.
